Matthew 24:30 Then will appear in heaven the sign of the Son of Man, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
When we studied Matthew 24, we touched on such topics as Justification, Sanctification, The Rapture of the Church, Security of Salvation, The Tribulation, Israel, The Holocaust, The Diaspora, The Bar Kokbah Revolt, Idolatry, Armageddon, The Seven Prophetic Feasts of Israel, Enoch and Noah and their connection with Jesus, and of course God’s love, grace and mercy as well as the joy of abiding in Christ …
… And, you know, as we study these things, it seems to me that the gospel is something that is very important for others to hear. Knowing this … we must make the best of the time we’ve been given. The knowledge of the gospel has been invested in our lives and the urgency of getting the word out has been reinforced to us through this study.
So, the questions arises … What are we going to do with this knowledge? If we were to bury it … to hide it away, we would reap a reward of regrets. Christ leaves no room for regrets. I believe that a profound concern for the unsaved is the progression of the work of the Holy Spirit in the children of God, working through us to produce God’s will.
The Spirit of God in you is effective to accomplish what you cannot in ways you never imagined. Don’t be afraid to step out in faith.
Philippians 3:13–14 Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
There is a verse in Revelation that leaves us with a very interesting question. That verse is:
Revelation 21:4 He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”
In the new heaven and new earth, why would there be tears? Perhaps, those are tears of regret for the times we chose to remain silent instead of telling others about Jesus? Don’t stress about results, just do what Jesus instructed and share the gospel with others. Tell everyone you can about Jesus, Who saves us from a life of regret.
God will wipe away tears.
